Why OHIO’s Online MAA Program

Lee Ann is in her third semester of the online MAA program. When asked why she chose Ohio University’s online MAA program, she gave us three reasons: Flexibility, relevant curriculum, and networking opportunities.

“Flexibility is important to me as I am a teacher, coach, and mother of two children. Secondly, this program offers relatable and relevant curriculum that I could apply right away. Faculty Spolight – John Evers

John Evers brings over 35 years of experience in the education sector to the online MAA program. The first half of his career he spent as a teacher and coach at three schools and the last 17 years of his career he was the Athletic Director at Castle High School in Indiana. John teaches the SASM 6700 Financial Administration of Sport Facilities and Programs course. “Teaching this course allows me to share my financial experience from my years on the interscholastic level.” John, like most instructors came from traditional classroom environment and then shifted into the online environment. “After three years, I must say that I enjoy the online environment just as much or more than I did my classroom experiences. There is a great spirit of collective sharing and growth that is quite refreshing and enjoyable.” Read the full interview.

SASM 6260 – Sport Governance and Policy Development
This course provides an in-depth look at the governance structure of national, state, and local organizations impacting interscholastic sport. Students will review internal governance processes, including strategic planning and internal decision-making, and will learn how to develop policies and procedures for effective management of interscholastic programs.
